SUMMARY
I worked with product owners and business partners to create an implementation strategy for the addition of parental controls and an "allowance" feature for dependent accounts. As this project was being integrated into their existing flows a large portion of this project was dedicated to auditing the existing app to guarantee a seamless transition between the old and new screens. No numerical metrics were provided by the company, but the outcome of the project was so successful that the marketing agency was hired not only to go ahead with our vision for this project but also to assist in future feature implementations.
THE CHALLENGE
We were approached by The company to implement a new feature in a way that would integrate into their existing app flow, and require the least amount of new screens possible as they wanted to maintain their existing experience as much as possible.
Creative Solutions
With these tight restrictions, we were challenged to create a hyper-optimized strategy to create clean integration into existing screens. A large portion of this project was dedicated to auditing the existing structure to provide implementation recommendations. I also worked out what an optimized flow could look like and wire-framed key screens for the process.
Personas
Our personas were based on existing analytics and audience research. Once we had established their key motivations, we were able to determine the key elements to add to implement the feature and make it successful.


THE SOLUTION
Our implementation ended up not needing to create any fully new screens and was able to piggyback off existing screens, which our client loved. Their bosses were sold and our marketing agency was hired not only to go ahead with our vision but also to assist in future feature implementations.
