Furniture Shopping App
With more and more companies transitioning to more "mobile-focused" shopping experiences I have continued to notice a large discrepancy between what companies are actually providing and what is actually easy to use and navigate for customers, especially in the home furniture space.
The Challenge
Reimagine the mobile shopping experience for furniture in a way that embraces the "limited screen real estate" that mobile devices offer.
The Process
The first step of this project was to research what was out there and create a list of features that existing apps were using and create a ranking system to determine the key elements that should be included in my design. In addition to this competitor analysis, a group of shoppers was interviewed to get input on pain points, features, and experiences they liked and would like to see in a shopping app.

After compiling these lists, multiple versions of mockups were created, and the same group of shoppers was interviewed to which versions resolved the most pain points the best.
The Result & Takeaway
The final design showcases a more streamlined shopping experience that provides a user with the ability to access desired information about a given product in a way that does not clutter the user's experience.
One key takeaway from this project is that oversimplification can detract from a user's experience just as much as over-congesting it.
